Hey all!
So I’ve decided to go out and about into the real world, and let y’all know what is going on in the fabulous world of sexuality. I was lucky enough to catch up with Ms. Jamye Waxman last Thursday in Philly, where she was giving a reading of her new book “Getting Off.” She was kind enough to give me a few minutes to pick her brain (she happens to have the very degree for which I am going to classes every weekend!) about masturbation, ethical pornography, and so much more! Check out our interview below, and read more about Jamye (including her blog) at www.jamyewaxman.com.
Signing off (and “getting off!”),

Looking at her website I realize I’ve read so much more of her work than I thought. In a box somewhere in my garage is the November 07 Men’s Health where she wrote a piece on couples, I’m so glad I saved it!
She was right on about how every generation has to reinvent the wheel when it comes to talking about sex; it was great that she chose the Janet Jackson super bowl incident to get her point across, it was one such a significant event that had our country in a total uproar! It’s a shame we’re exposed to violence and think nothing of it but we frown down upon open sexuality, even when discussed among adults.
I love the fact that she added a historical section to her new book, that fuels my desire to want to get it even more. She sounds like an incredibly positive advocate for female & mutual masturbation and I’m thrilled Essin Em could talk with her.
Another best is how she talked about the EF material’s guide, I always cite it when friends ask about toys and materials- and I was soooo thrilled that Essin Em said it’s going to be updated with toxicity measurements! This website is going above and beyond!
“Free your mind and the best will follow”, any woman that can quote En Vogue and own it is A list in my book.

Awesome interview. It’s always cool to put a face to a name of an author so you can sort of see the perspective they are coming from. I’ll have to look into getting the book. Thanks Essin’ Em for doing the interview and making it available here.
