So the countdown begins…I’m off to the Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs, CA on Thursday. I can’t wait for the sun, the pools, the parties, and oh yeah, the hordes of lesbians, dykes, and other queer folks. Will any of you be there? Come find me if you will be (my hair is red and black now)…if you find me, I’ll give you a discount on your next order, AND maybe something else, if you find me in a good mood (hint; that means at a party, or at the pool with drink in hand ;) ) Better yet, EdenFantasys.com is teaming up with HotMoviesForHer.com to sponsor an Orgasm Contest (don’t worry, not REAL orgasms…we’re talking aboutthe best FAKE real orgasm you’ve ever heard!) with fabulous prize including a Hitachi Magic Wand, a Happy Valley Dildo, erotica, a lesbian sex guide, and more! Make sure you find them if you want to compete. Hope to see you on the Sunny Side.

Here are some pictures from last year to show you what you’re missing!: This is me before the White Party (I bought my boa at Gaymart! And I’m so not kidding…)White Party

This is me with Renee O’Connor (Gabrielle from Xena: Warrior Princess)With Renee O'Connor

And this is me having a blast with people at the pool party, giving out shirts from HotMoviesForHer.com Pool Party

Yee haw out there in sex-land, this is Shazam coming to you wearing cowboy chaps and a forward tipped cowboy hat (can you see me winking at you from underneath the dusty brim?) to deliver a great big helping of fun and fascinating reviews recently published on edenfantasys.com.

1. This one comes from Chris, and I could barely stay up on my horse when I read it, I was laughing so hard! Click here to read about her adventures with the Voice Activated Slim and Sultry–a vibe that talks back…and won’t shut up.

 2. Next we have a review by Francis Gray for A Pumper’s Handbook. Read his comments on “small penis syndrome” by clicking here.

3. Of course, we all like to hear a good horror story, and reviewer Astrea got into a bit of a panic when reviewing the Pink Pleasure Balls. Click here to read what happened to her in a busy women’s restroom.

 Enjoy! Yeeeaahhh doggies!

Guess where I’m going to be in less than two weeks? Sunny Palm Springs, CA.

Yeah, that’s right. All the lesbians and bisexuals from around the world know that the 4 day party that never ends is starting in Palm Springs at the beginning of April.

What am I talking about? Why the Dinah Shore Weekend of course! I’ll be there April 3rd-April 6th, soaking up the rays, talking up Eden, and dancing my booty off.

I’ll be at the Girl Bar Dinah Shore Event, but luckily, our friends at HotMoviesForHer.com (my old home) are going to be attending the Club Skirts Dinah and we’ve teamed up to put on a fabulous “fake your best orgasm” contest at the Doral Pool party. Eden is providing the prizes, from dildos to erotica (and everything in between) and HMFH is providing the dyke power to run it. Whether you decide to compete, or just watch, make sure you find them and check it out.

In the meantime, I’ll be at Hotel Zoso and rocking the parties in the center of Palm Springs, and the pool party at the Wynhdam. Come find me (I have fire engine red and black hair), and get one of my cards, and maybe you’ll get a special something too ;)

So who is gonna be at the Dinah with me? You only have less than 2 weeks to get your tickets!

Hey all!

Some of you have taken me up on my question and answer offer (and it’s still going! comment with your questions here, or you can always email me at essinem@gmail.com with all your questions!).

So you’ve given me questions, and here is my first set of answer:

I have one! How does EF decide whether to bring a new company’s products on board? I mean, is there a process of checking their quality / how they produce their toys?

Lili Desi is our assistant buyer, and let me tell you, she’s a hard worker. When companies send us samples, she checks them out; she has connection in all the right places, she’s been to the Adult Entertainment Expo, and she toils hard researching companies (learning about them, about their products, getting the whole 411) before we add them to Eden. If we’re unable to get a sample from them, we get a small first shipment, and make sure everything is good quality, and we like the way everything is presented. AND, if we start working with a company, we are also careful to pass on feedback we hear from customers, to encourage and help them to provide the best product possible!

Once Lili Desi finds a new company and decides that she approves, she sends on the info to our magical head buyer, who makes all the executive decisions about whether or not to go with them , using the info Lili has compiled.

In addition (and keep this under wraps), we are in the beginnings of a program to work with up and coming manufacturers to help them with their toys before they go on the market. Yep, we’re talking testers and market research on sex toys, performed by our very own reviewers; that way, we’ll know the products are of quality before they even hit the shelves. More on this when the idea process is more solid.

Have a company you’d like us to consider or look into? Let us know!

Here are two that are similar, so I’ll answer both at once:

I have a few, if you don’t mind Essin Em. Have our reviews had a big impact on the way a customer makes a purchase? Have we influenced buying trends? I’m really curious about this, especially over negative reviews and if they have any affect on whether or not that product does not continue to sell well afterwards. Also, I love the burgundy color of your hair!… but are you planning to go green or blue for upcoming spring?

I’m also curious how the reviews have impacted customers? As far as the negative reviews, I think sometimes one’s trash is another’s treasure. If I think a product’s vibrations were too intense, someone else might enjoy the intense vibration. Also, if I see a company publish a negative review, I might be more likely to believe what positives I do read….just my thoughts!

Let me answer the easy part, about my hair first. In the last year, my hair as been all red, burgundy, purple, teal, all black, and is currently black in the back and red in the front. I’ve discovered that all black is easiest to maintain. However, red looks the best on me, and is the second easiest to keep going…the teal fades in a week or two, and the purple isn’t enough of pizzaz for me. So it looks like it’ll be red and black for at least a bit longer :)

As far as the reviews, they do influence the buying trend, especially ones that talk about specific things like the smell, the amount of vibrations, how easy it was to put together, whether it broke…basically, things that everyone can understand and agree upon. Reviews that are only discuss how to use the toy, and how it felt, tend to not influence as much, because as one of the questions pointed out, different people are looking for different things. In fact, a negative review that says “holy crap, the vibrations in this are tooooo strong!” will actually encourage some customers to look into buying it, because they are indeed looking for something with intense vibrations. So yes, there is *some* impact (especially when there are negative customer reviews in addition to the editorial review), but it depends on what the negative was.

Negative reviews are really important, for a variety of reasons. As I said, we are working closely with many toy companies, and negative reviews serve as feedback to them about what they should change to become even better. Also, they show that we have *real* reviews on our site, and are not just sending toys to people to have them write glowing recommendations and give everything 5 stars. When people see that we have both positive and negative reviews, they tend to take BOTH more seriously, because they understand that the reviewers are really giving their opinion, and aren’t just writing a longer product description. And as my boss pointed out, if a customer buys a product after reading negative reviews, they’re less likely to be upset if the same negative thing happens to them (batteries die fast, the smell permeates their house, etc), because they have been “forewarned.”

We love our review program, and have dedicated many resources to it, simply because we feel it is crucial. As much as I love toys, I can’t test out every single item we sell (although I’d love to try!), and we want to give everyone honest information about everything we sell. Reviews help to show the world what we are; an honest, ethical and sex-positive company AND community.

As I am sure many of you have now noticed, blogs all over the net are talking about March being Question and Answer month…and well, I’ve been asked lots of questions by people from Eden (reviewers, customers, lurkers, etc). So, it being Q and A month and all, I thought that I’d open our blog up for questions. They can be questions about me (but for more info, check out my blog at www.essin-em.com), they can be about the product, they can be about sexuality, they can be about how silly Shazam is in person, they can be about the biology of sex, you name it. I will try to answer every question you post on here…in a new post!

I reserve the right to not answer/make fun of any rude, mean or idiotic questions :)

Just so you know, this is not the opinion of EdenFantasys, it is MY opinion, and I’m just bringing you the info.

Right now, Advocates for Youth (a non-profit based on healthy sexuality and freedom for young people) is trying to get 10,000 MORE signatures on their petition to the FDA. The FDA only released EC (Emergency Contraception) to be available over the counter to women 18+. That means women and girls under 18, those who might have the most trouble getting to a doctor to get it prescribed…and keeping it private. Think about what might happen in the case of incest. Or parents that would disown a child who had sex for any reason. For the safety of our children, we need to make EC available to everyone!

To do your part, for not cost whatsoever, just by providing your signature, Click Here to Sign.

EC IS NOT AN ABORTION PILL. If the person taking it is pregnant, it WILL NOT HARM THE FETUS NOR CAUSE AN ABORTION. It will only prevent someone from getting pregnant.

It should be available to anyone who has had unprotected sex for any reason; sexual assault, condom broke, sexual coercion, you name it.

Let’s make it happen!

I think it ends today or tomorrow, so step it up :)

Big news! Eden has some new arrivals that make this sexpert very happy. We’ve gotten in the Mr. Limpy (in two sizes; small and extra small), AND Mr. Right (in three different colors! Made out of VixSkin!)…ANNNNNNND packing straps for them as well from Aslan.

So when we said we were going to become even MORE queer (and specifically trans) inclusive, we decided to put products where our mouth was, and add some great new items.

Are you an FTM transman looking for a comfy packer, and/or packing strap? We’ve got 5 different choices for you! A butch (daddy?) who wants something to wear out an about that isn’t as hard or as big as a dildo? We’ve got the answer for you.

Mr. Limpy is superskin, so it’s not sterilizable, but you can wash it out with soap and water quite well. Mr. Right is 100% silicone, so you can boil it, dishwash it, or wipe it down with 10% bleach solution.

The packing strap is spandex and leather, so the spandex can be washed in the sink, and the leather can be wiped down, and cleaned like any other leather product.

So come one, come all (no pun intended), and check out the awesome new packers and packing strap here on EdenFantasys.com!
