You are currently browsing the monthly archive for April, 2008.

Above, you’ll see our very own Lili Desi at the Adult Entertaintment Expo with none other than Jamye Waxman and Tristan Taormino, two of the hottest and smartest sex educators and members (in one regard or another) of the Adult Industry, oh, EVER.

Granted, it only took us 5 months to get this picture up!

We carry a bunch of Tristan’s movies: Chemistry, Chemistry 2 and Chemistry 3, as well as House of Ass. She is an amazing director, and an anal sex lover, so if you’re looking for some H-O-T AND sex-positive porn that has some back door actions, make sure you check her movies out.

Jamye is a freaking ROCKSTAR, and also a graduate of the Master’s program I am in (I’ll be done with it in a month!). We have her newest book; Getting Off (and scroll back in the blog for an interview with her about it!), her co-produced movie with Candida Royalle; Under the Covers (in which Jamye has a super hot spanking scene), and her newest Personal Touch series, which includes Toying with Pleasure, Exploring the O, and Monogamy without Monotony - all three are really well done, in my humble opinion.

While I’m on the subject of really sizzling sex positive porn, allow me to make some recommendations.

Audacia Ray is intelligent, witty and made the hottest bi movie out there (and one that has just racked up awards); the Bi Apple. Jamye makes a cameo, as does the Lusty Lady, Rachel Kramer Bussel.

Another New York based company making some sexy award-winning films is Comstock Films, who has created the art of the sexumentary; combining deliciously delightful porn with a documentary about the couple involved. We have 5 Comstock DVDs, including Ashley and Kisha, Damon and Hunter, Matt and Khym, Xana and Dax, and Jack and Marie. I’ve seen and love them all - HIGHLY recommended, especially if you’re looking for something that has sex, is more than educational, but isn’t full blown (pun intended), traditional styled porn.

New York also is come to Candida Royalle, who makes films for couples under the studio Femme Productions; a little story line, a little action, and a whole lotta hot bodies. We carry 7 of her movies. My favorite, hands down, has to be Afrodite Superstar; is it art? Is it porn? Who knows!

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, we’d like to welcome Trannywood Pictures to the EdenFantasys.com. This company is known for their movies that show “Transmen in Action.” We are proud to carry both their original award winning DVD Cubbyholes, as well as the brand new Couch Surfers. Mmmm. Dex Hardlove. I have a hard on for him, in case anyone care. Ian Foxe is pretty foxy as well.

Those are my steamy and sex positive movies picks for the moment, and I give all of the above films two thumbs (and other various body parts) up. Don’t miss out!

If you’re looking for any other recommendations for a specific genre, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m quite the porn princess, and would love to help you out :)

May 1st 2008 (that’s this coming Thursday!) is Dining Out For Life all over North America (the US AND Canada).

What is it?  Well, restaurants in tons of different cities (check the link above to find the one nearest you) have partnered with Dining Out For Life, and will be donating one third (33%) of any money they get (that’s total sales, not just profit!) on May 1st to local HIV and AIDS programs.

What do you have to do?  Find a restaurant near you, and just eat.  Seriously, there are no special menus, or restrictions.  Anything you order at participating restaurants counts towards the 33% off, so get ready to nosh for a good cause.  If you can’t afford a lot, drinks and desserts count just as much as a 5-course meal.

Want more info? Go to DiningOutForLife.com to get the full scoop and find a place near you.

Last week, I ventured out into the nightlife of Philly to see what I could see. I made my way to the FUSE party, which is held every 3rd Saturday of the month at the XO lounge, and who did I find but one of the coordinators, Corrine, who is also on the board of the Sapphire Fund. She was kind enough to step outside of the rocking party to give me a few minutes of her time, and tell me a little about both organizations.

Check it (and my new hair color) out!

For those of you who are unaware, next Friday, April 25, 2008, is the Day Of Silence (and 10 days after tax day).

This is the official blurb on it from the website:

The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. This year’s event will be held in memory of Lawrence King, a California 8th-grader who was shot and killed Feb. 12 by a classmate because of his sexual orientation and gender expression. Hundreds of thousands of students will come together on April 25 to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior.

I will be participating, as will hundreds of thousands (maybe even a million?!?!) of people, mostly under the age of 25, across the US. If you are at a school or university, the website gives you information on how to get your school set up to participate. You can also print little cards that explain why you are not talking, etc.

If you can do anything to bring attention to this cause, I hope you do, whether it is not speaking on the 25th, blogging about it, donating money, etc.

One day, hopefully, the violence will stop.

I thought I’d post it here, for new reviewers, and those who didn’t see it.

-Essin’ Em

The review program has been so incredibly successful that we currently have our hands full of great reviews and follow-ups ready to be published online. Because of the large amount of material that we currently have to work through, there will be a temporary shutdown of new items being assigned to you for just about one or two weeks. Consider it a little vacation, where you can concentrate on the following activities:

  1. Revisit your toy chest and write follow-up reviews with new perspectives on how the product lasted over time and if/how you’re still enjoying it.
  2. Write and send in unassigned reviews of toys you already own (products that you did not receive through an assignment) that are on the edenfantasys.com site. Just look up the product on the site and add it to your Assignment Cart using the GRAB IT button. Once in your Assignment Cart, look at the line where the item is listed and choose WRITE REVIEW. Then (and this is really cool!) you can publish your unassigned review yourself - which means you don’t have to wait in line for me to approve it.
  3. Bookmark your review pages in your favorite social network sites or bookmark services. Show everyone how much fun you have and help us spread the word about our breakthrough review program.
  4. Complete and/or add to your personal profile. There’s lots of great info you can fill in about yourself, your life and your interests to share with the community! Make sure you’ve uploaded an avatar to represent yourself to everyone who stops by and checks out your profile.
  5. Explore the site, especially the Reviewer Community. Comment on other people’s reviews and message other members. You’re a member of a pretty hip club, so get out there and mingle with other members!

All of these options can keep you busy while we do some much needed housecleaning. We appreciate your patience, as always.

Now, when the hold on all new assignments has been lifted, there are a few additional changes that I will summarize for you below. Please read carefully:

  • Please set your new assignment goal as one assignment per month. This is for new assignments only, as you can still submit as many follow-up reviews as you’d like. There is also no limit to the number of unassigned reviews that you can submit (see instructions above in #2 to submit an unassigned review).
  • Please choose items within your appropriate price range. These price ranges have been recently adjusted, so please keep this for future reference:
    • 0-5 Reviews = products under $30
    • 6-10 Reviews = products under $40
    • 11-15 Reviews = products under $50
    • 16 and up = products under $60

On a final note, you will notice that approval and shipment of new assignments will be delayed for the next month or two. This will be temporary. If you want to ensure that you get your request approved, choose something with a conservative (lower) price, and it will be much easier to move your approval through. Most of the customers who visit our community are looking for the lower-priced items, and it is with these items that your reviews are really important and a big help to shoppers. So, pick the lower-priced items and not only will you get faster approval but you’ll be really helping someone find the perfect toy.

Another speedy hint is to choose only items that haven’t been reviewed yet, as we really want to have one review for every item on the site. So go exploring and find a great new product to try!

Thank you again for being such a valuable part of our community, and we appreciate you sticking by us while we make this program bigger and better for everyone involved!

Opening party

So here I am the first night, getting ready to go out, and meet some lovely ladies.

at the pool

The next day, I sat by the pool, and did my best not to get sunburnt. I did though. Within about 2.5 seconds.

Las Conseulaz

Luckily, there was good Mexican food, a raspberry Daiquiri and a bunch of girls from HotMoviesForher.com to cure my ills. You can’t see, but there is a bag o’ sex toys under the table… hehehe. There’s the Porn Librarian, J.D. Bauchery, and of course, me!

Viking

Then we met this funny group of older gays guys…all wearing weird hats. They were locals, and hilarious!

Japanese hats

Here are some more of them…

JD and Me

Queer Jewish Sexologist Porn Loving Tattooed Dykes. Gotta love J.D. Bauchery!

Marilyn

Then it was time for the Pure White Party. Can you guess who I went as…?

White Party

How many curvy girls wear white??!?!?! I went as Marilyn Monroe of course!

Kiwis

At the White Party, I met my new friends from New Zealand! What a fun way to celebrate their one year anniversary…another couple, from Australia, were on their honeymoon :)

White Party crowd

This is to give you an idea of the white party…hundreds, nay, thousands of queer women…ALL DRESSED IN WHITE (this was before Belinda Carlisle sang…)

pool

Saturday, I went to the Giant Pool Party (this is not it), and talked to people from magazines, sex shops, cruise ships, and more, all about how great EdenFantasys.com is. Then I went back to the hotel pool (above) and sat in the shade, since I was all burnt.

pool party

Other people had the same idea, and it got a bit more crowded…

butch femme friends

So I hung out with some friends and discussed the Butch/Femme dynamic while sipping a pina colada.

Missress E and I

Then I met more new friends; Mistress Eustacia from Boston, and her lovely girlfriend. Between our three heads, we were half a rainbow (blue and black, red and black and purple and black).

Mask

Then I got ready for the Mardi Grad Masquerade, mask and all (although most people didn’t wear masks…I mean, COME ON dykes, let’s get it together. There *was* a theme!

friend

Then I made a few more new friends!

GoGo

I lusted a little after a go-go dancer, before watching the Go Gos play LIVE for their 30th reunion. I have to say, while she’s old enough to be my mother, I have a HUGE crush on Jane Wiedlin.

closing

All too soon, it was time for the closing party, so I hung out with more friends, exchanged emails, gave out the last of my cards, and packed my sex toy trunk from For Your Nymphomation.

After a few days in the sun, I was ready to come back to work (no, I wasn’t, but I had non-refundable plane tickets), so I headed back to the East Coast, and voila, that’s more story.

Phew.

Essin’ Em

I know it’s tax season.  I know it’s time for people to start thinking about finals, and planning summer vacation. I know April is one of the stressiest month of the year. Luckily for you, Shazam and I have created a V-blog for you on how to de-stress during this strenuous time. Enjoy, and relax!-Essin’ Em

Hey gang - Today I’d like to post about something a bit more serious. Many many many people in this world are affected by sexual assault and violence. This includes violence in relationships, sexual assaults from people we know (aka “Date Rape”), stranger assault, sexual coercion (when a person in power coerces someone else to be sexually active with them), incest, and more. Numbers show that 1 in 4 women have been sexually assaulted in their life time. Numbers are more confusing with men, because people study it less (although men can be AND ARE sexually assaulted; by other men AND by women), but I’ve heard everything from 1 in 10, 1 in 17 and even 1 in 33. 38% of girls are sexually abused before they turn 18, and 16% of boys before they turned 18.Look at those numbers. Just like I’ve never met anyone who “didn’t know any homosexuals” (because they didn’t know them, they just didn’t know their sexual orientation), I’ve never met anyone who didn’t know SOMEONE who had been the victim/survivor of sexual assault. Think about those numbers. 1 in 4 women? How many women are in your life? And 1 in 5 men is the survivor of child sexual abuse? Think on that; how many men do you know? And think about all of the hate crimes against people of different sexual orientations and gender identities, rapes that are pure hate. You know at least SOMEONE who has been affected by this, probably many, many more. Some things to think about:*People don’t lie about this. Seriously, why would you? The FBI reports that less than 2% of cases are possible false reports… a smaller percentage than any other crime.*Anyone can be a sexual assault survivor, regardless of their age, socio-economic class, race, sexual orientation, sex, gender, location, etc. Don’t assume that because someone is _____, they could never have been assaulted.*Somewhere between 60 and 80% of sexual assaults happen between people who know each other. Yup, that’s right…rapists are not all hiding behind the bushes. They’re in plain sight; they’re people we know. *Someone CAN be assaulted by their partner (domestic partner, boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, etc). Just because they may have said “YES” before doesn’t mean that they always have to say yes. In fact, Marital Rape is illegal in all 50 states.*Not everyone wants to tell their story, or is ready to even if they do want to. If someone trusts you enough to tell you that they’ve been assaulted, don’t press them for details unless they want to give them to you. Many assaults go un-prosecuted because the survivor is scared/not ready/unable, etc to face their perpetrator in court. That’s ok Instead of victim blaming these people for not getting rapists behind bars, why don’t we work on getting people to stop raping others?*There are many many many many resources out there for survivors of assault, and for their friends and relatives. RAINN (the Rape And Incest National Network) is a really good one, and is national, so it doesn’t matter who/where you are. Their number is 1-800-656-HOPE. There are tons of local places; look in the phone book, or google it. Know resources in your area, so that if you ever need them, for yourself or for someone else, you have them.*Be there for others, if you can. Not everyone can. For some, it’s too hard. For others, it is too soon after their own assault. Others find it difficult to be unbiased because it was friend on friend assault. All of that is ok. Just tell them you believe them, and help them find someone they *can* talk to.*If you are a survivor, there are people to listen. Call the number above, find a friend, talk to a therapist. In April, there will be Take Back the Nights all over the US (and possibly in other countries). Find one with an open mic night, and listen. Share your story if you are able. People care. We care. I care.Do what you can. If you can donate money or time to your local agency, do it. If you can be there for a friend, do it. If you can walk someone home from a party, do it. If you need to tell your friend to get off of someone, do it. Whatever it takes, this is not going to stop until we get up and DO SOMETHING. That’s all I’m asking; be aware, and do something.-Essin’ Em

Ok, so I know you miss Shazam and me, but never fear, we are all kinds of back in action! This week, we have an awesome video for you.  We’ve taken many of our friends from the animal kingdom (made of plastic, jelly, rubber and silicone of course), and have provided you with a virtual petting zoo of sorts. Plus I say some really silly things, as usual. I need a filter.  It’s not mean if it’s true :)Enjoy!Essin’ Em

I questioned girls from all over the world, with one thing in common - they all like having sex with other girls. I arrived at a list of 10 favourite lesbian sex acts and had a hunt for the perfect toys to compliment them.

1. Kissing

KissingSome people might not consider kissing to be a sex act but not the women I spoke to, who voted it their number 1. The beauty of kissing is that you can make it as casual or as intimate as you like. There are a variety of lip balms (e.g. The Honey Orange Kissing Balm) which claim to enhance the experience but personally, I think kissing is perfect, just the way it is.

2. Oral Sex

Whether it’s on its own, 69ing or combining oral sex with other sex acts, one thing’s for sure and that’s that we can’t get enough of it. You have to wonder whether there’s anything that can be done to improve something so divine. Well there certainly is! What’s better than eating out a girlfriend? Eating out a girlfriend covered in chocolate! You could splash out $16.99 on Kama Sutra Chocolate Body Paint (complete with tickly brush) but I recommend you pop to your local supermarket and pickup a much better value, jar of Nutella - soften for a few seconds in the microwave and apply with a finger.

3. Fingering

FingeringPerhaps one of the reasons we love fingering is its simplicity, scope for spontaneity and the sense of intimacy created by skin-on-skin contact. However that doesn’t mean we should turn our nose up at toys which can vary the experience. One option is the tantrabeam which makes your finger vibrate for that added vroom. You could also experiment with a variety of textures using silicone finger sleeves.

4. Breast Stimulation

Whilst most lesbians love having our breasts and nipples gently caressed, many of the products geared towards tits look intimidating and fierce, for example breast pumps and nipple clamps but very few of the lesbians we spoke to were keen to try either.

5. Sex with a vibrating toy

Now we’re getting to an area where sex toys can really have an impact. Vibrators come in all shapes and sizes and in almost any colour or texture. Whether it’s a rabbit you want for a penetration-clit massage combo, or a vibrating butt plug, there’s a toy out there for you. You could get a vibrating dildo, such as the Echo, for use with a strap-on harness but many women said that whatever form their vibrator takes, they usually end up using it on their clit. If that’s sounds like you, you could try a best-seller is the Wittle wabbit tickler.

6. Tribadism

Tribadism“Scissoring”, “clipping”, “bumping donuts”, “clit-clatting”, “pussy grinding”, “mashing cookies”, “touching tacos”, “clam jousting”, “fur trading” - whatever you want to call it, it’s popular. One way to really spice up this position is the addition of a double-ended dildo. This allows mutual penetration promoting simultaneous orgasms and g-spot stimulation. Something simple such as the Doppeltest lottchen is extremely effective but there are variations you can try, such as dildos with vertebrae and dildos with different textures.

7. Restraining

You don’t have to be a hardcore S&M fiend to enjoy a little restraint in bed. Handcuffs are most couples’ favourite, but they can prove of little effect if you only have one pair or have a bed lacking convenient handcuff points. For those reasons I recommend Rachel’s Bed Spread with Cuffs. You wrap two nylon straps around your mattress, clip on some padded velcro cuffs and suddenly anyone with a modest budget can transform their bed into an amateur fantasy dungeon.

8. Ice play

A little ice can really heat things up. If it’s the cold sensation that you like then you could try a glass dildo. These can usually be put in the fridge or freezer beforehand to lower the temperature and are available across a wide price range. You can pay up to $300 for something like the Inside Out Filligrino Shaft Glass Dildo but the more modestly priced Pure pleasure Glass probe by Topco is more than satisfying.

9. Strap-on sex

Strap-on SexIt may not be the most spontaneous sex act but the variety of positions strap-on sex opens up makes it a favourite. These days strap-on harnesses are available for the thigh, chin, chest and many other parts of the body, as well as the less ridiculous pelvic harness. Because a lot of us would be quite perturbed by a phallus protruding from the forehead, I recommend a good traditional harness such as the Jaguar with a curved silicone dildo such as the Leo. It’s available in a variety of colours and vegan, for those of us who prefer to avoid leather.

10. Sensory Deprivation

Removing one sense is believed to heighten the others. The most popular example being blind-folding. Eden Fantasys offer a variety of suitable accessories ranging from girlie blindfolds to leather hoods so you can choose a product to suit the ambience you wish to create.

So as you can see, there are more than enough sexual avenues to explore without spending a penny, but sex toys can add that extra spice or rescue a sex life that might otherwise be on the rocks. There are enough adult goods on the market to keep even the most creative couples occupied.

We have a very important announcement to make.We here at EdenFantasys.com have officially decide that April is “Buy Your Friend a Sex Toy Month.”

This is no joke; I would never ever joke about a subject as serious as sex toys (ok, maybe once in a while. but not right now!)
As many (if not all) of you know, I enjoy sex toys. You might even say that I have love for teh sexxx toyz. I have tons of them. Multitudes. A plethora of toys. I have my favorites (the Hitachi Magic Wand, the Raquel dildo, the amazing Pure Wand… to name a few). I own the Rolling Sex Toy Trunk from For Your Nyphomation, AND the Sex Toy Chest. I have a night stand full o’ toys.
Given this deep and dire love of sex toys, I feel it is important to share both my passion for sex toys as well as the knowledge I have accrued about sex toys. I much share this with all that I know. In college, I was the go-to girl for sex toy shopping. This was pre uncreepy websites, so we’d make the trek up to Denver to the least creepy sex toy store we knew (the one that had batteries in all the vibes, so that you could check them out/have vibrator wars). I made that journey with people of all sexes and genders, and many things were bought; vibrators, whips, handcuffs, pocket pussies, books, lube. If it was a sex toy, we got it.
I’ve given hundreds of people my partner code for the Eden Partner Program so that they could get 15% off their first toy (you can do it too; click on the link to sign up…AND you get 5% of whatever they spend!). I’ve talked about toys in my sex toy blog, had sex toy soliloquies, presented sex toys as presents for both birthday and holiday celebrations. I’ve created contests that have sex toys as prizes. I thought I had done all that I could do.
And then, like a miracle in the midnight sky (don’t ask me what that means, I’m not 100% sure that I know), it came to me.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Buy Your Friend A Sex Toy Month!*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Yes. Ladies, Gentleman, and those fighting the gender binary… we bring you this month of joy and toys. This month where you too can not only tell your friends about the wonders of toys, but actually get them their very own toy with which to play!
But how, you may ask, how can one participate in this joyous and wonderous occasion. Never fear, my brave sex toy admirers…I have completed a list of ideas for you;
*Get on the computer, head to EdenFantasys.com and shop with them together. Help them pick it out, and then get a toy of your own too (free shipping over $50!).
*Sign up for the partner program above, and give your friends your code. Then they get 15% off and you make 5%!
*Take your friends on an adventure to the local sex toy shop. Explain to them all you know about sex toys, and how they have influenced your life. Have vibrator (aka “light saber) fights with the demo vibes. Then buy your friend a sex toy.
*Have someone over for a sex toy party. Invite all your friends. Buy them all sex toys (no, just kidding. Unless you’re rich. And if you are, will you please buy me a Sybian!?!?!). Encourage your friends to check out all the different types of toys; vibrators, dildos, butt toys, BDSM toys, etc. Help them pick something awesome out!
*Don’t forget that erotica books and sexy videos can be considered sex toys as well! They’re sex toys for the mind, and remember, the mind is a horrible thing to waste.
Ok. That’s it. Take this information, go forward, be merry, and share your love of sex toys with the world. What in the heck are you waiting for?

And maybe, if you’re a good little sex toy sharer, maybe someone will love you enough to buy you a sex toy too! Happy Buy Your Friend A Sex Toy Month!
